Brian Hackleman
Chief Compliance Officer

With over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, Brian Hackleman’s primary responsibility is to ensure that our systems, processes and data are all kept compliant with the rules and regulations of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). As the one who handles all security transactions for BCWM, Brian shoulders the responsibility for limiting account transaction errors. Brian is also a member of the BCWM Investment Committee. In addition to his BCWM responsibilities, Brian is as a member of the KC Compliance Group, meeting regularly with other professionals to stay current on compliance topics and review SEC procedures. Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas and resides in Lenexa, Kan. with his wife and two sons.
Christopher E. Harrington, CFA, CPA, CFP®
Portfolio Manager
Chris joined BCWM in 2010 as our Portfolio Manager. Working closely with Rich, he provides analysis on a wide variety of securities and assists with portfolio allocation and investment recommendations. He also assists with developing and maintaining our global investment strategy and leading BCWM’s Investment Committee.
Chris is both a CFA charterholder and a CFP® certificant, joining Rich as one of the few professionals worldwide who hold both designations. In 2005 Chris earned his designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst, and in 2011 he became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Between each of these achievements, he earned the title of a Certified Public Accountant in 2008.
Prior to joining BCWM, Chris served as Financial Analysis Manager for the Capital Markets Group of CenturyLink. He also spent four years as an equity trader with E-Trade Professional in New York, NY. A graduate of Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, Chris earned both his Master of Science in Accounting in December 2007 and his MBA at UMKC in May 2008. He is a member of the CFA Institute, Kansas City Chapter and Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society for business students. Chris played on the National Champion Princeton men’s lacrosse team from 1998 to 2001 and now volunteers as an assistant coach with a local high school lacrosse team. He and his wife reside in Overland Park, Kan. with their three children.
Jay M. Beebe, CFP®
Wealth Advisor
Jay’s professional responsibilities include formulating and implementing financial advice, coordinating tax projects, managing client relationships and maintaining membership in BCWM’s Investment Committee. With over six years of experience in the industry, Jay earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in May, 2008 and previously earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance, with a minor in accounting, from Oklahoma State University. While at Oklahoma State, Jay participated in a University-sponsored state leadership program, served on the advisory council to the state Board of Regents, and authored a corporate tax incentive bill. Currently enrolled at the UMKC Bloch School of Business, Jay is pursuing his Master of Science in Accounting.
Jay currently is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Kansas City Financial Planning Association, serving on the Membership and Programming Committees. Jay also volunteers in various leadership roles within the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for Wildwood Outdoor Education Center; is a member of the Overland Park South Rotary, heading the Operations Committee for their annual Jazz Festival; and is a committee member for Johnson County Ducks Unlimited. Jay, his wife and son reside in Lenexa, Kan.
Laura K. Boyer, CFP®
Wealth Advisor/Research Analyst
Laura, a 2007 graduate of Marquette University, joined Boyer & Corporon to learn financial planning, with an emphasis on client relationship management. At Marquette, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing, as well as served as goalkeeper for the university’s women’s soccer team. She successfully achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and is currently a 2011 Level II CFA candidate. Laura is also a member of BCWM’s Investment Committee. A scholar and athlete, Laura was the recipient of the Marquette FEI (Financial Executives Institute) award, and was named the 62nd recipient of the Marquette University McCahill Award, which is given each year to a student-athlete who has graduated and demonstrated the highest performance in scholarship, leadership and athletics.
Eric C. Clark, CFP®
Wealth Advisor
Eric C. Clark joined BCWM as a Wealth Advisor in March of 2012, with a focus on providing customized and sophisticated planning to BCWM clients. Eric is also a member of BCWM’s Investment Committee.
Prior to joining BCWM, Eric garnered more than 12 years of experience with individual income tax compliance, personal financial planning and wealth management. Most recently, as a Vice President at Sonas Financial Group, Inc. he provided investment management and financial planning for that firm’s clients. Eric has also gained tax compliance experience at the global accounting firm, KPMG, and at a regional firm, BKD.
Eric graduated Cum Laude in 1999 from the University of Central Missouri with a BSBA degree in Accounting and an emphasis in Personal Financial Planning. He earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2003, followed by the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) designation in 2004 at the College for Financial Planning near Denver, Colo., which is the nation’s oldest financial planning education institution. Eric also remains an active member of the national and local chapters of the Financial Planning Association.
A varsity college baseball player, Eric was selected as a 1996-97 Academic All-America District Team member, and he still enjoys playing recreational sports with friends and family in his spare time. He, his wife and two children reside in Kansas City, Mo.
Pat Burns
Director of Client Operations
Our Director of Client Operations, Pat Burns, has more than 17 years and a wide range of industry experience, including her role as Operations Manager for UBS PaineWebber, where she was engaged in compliance and branch operations oversight.
At BCWM her focus on client communication and delivery of superior customer service is essential. Pat ensures all client services are executed on time and with utmost accuracy, including the establishment and maintenance of client accounts; compilation and completion of client, custodian and firm documentation; execution of client tasks such as asset transfers, report preparation and completing philanthropic gifts. Pat plays an integral role in the coordination of our clients’ scheduled wealth management reviews and works closely with Mindy to support BCWM’s services to client families.
Pat resides in Overland Park, Kan. with her husband and two children.
Emily S. Sims
Assistant to the CEO
Emily Sims, who remains our ‘Director of First Impressions,’ is the first voice you hear when you call, and the smiling face that greets you when you visit our offices.
Emily is also Assistant to the Office Administrator. In this capacity she is responsible for a multitude of administrative and information technology functions, as well as travel coordination and event planning. As Assistant to the Chief Compliance Officer and Assistant to Senior Management, Emily adds compliance functions, direct interaction with clients, and special projects for Rich and Mindy to her lineup of duties at BCWM.
Emily is active in the Overland Park Chamber Young Professionals group. She and her husband reside in Olathe, Kan.
