April 13, 2015 marked the one year anniversary of the shooting of my father, William L. Corporon, MD and my son, Reat Griffin Underwood. It also marked the final day of the SevenDays Make a Ripple, Change the World event in Overland Park, Kan. To honor their memory, we celebrated love, faith, family, friends and the outdoors for seven days, while also encouraging education about religious similarities and acts of kindness. The goal was to remember those lost, and create a wave of positive change so we can all move onward in our lives and forever overcome evil with good!

SevenDays was created by caring individuals in our community who want to help pass on kindness, love and grace each and every day. There are three components to SevenDays:

  1. Song writing competition for young people ages 14-21
  2. Speaker series with daily activities for seven days
  3. Peace Walk, joining communities, races and religions as one
