Sean Easterly, Wealth Advisor with Boyer & Corporon Wealth Management (BCWM), is now the fifth member of the firm (alongside Eric Clark, Cindy Wysong, Richard Boyer, and Laura Carley) to become a Certified Financial Planner professional, thus earning him the right to use the CFP® designation.

Why does this matter? Because the Certified Financial Planner™ trademark is a sign of competency, ethics, and professionalism.  It is a distinction that the CFP Board authorizes only after a candidate has satisfied several requirements, including completing demanding coursework and an exam.

Unfortunately, anyone can claim to be a financial planner — a point driven home in this ad, where a disc jockey poses as a financial advisor. But, a licensed CFP® professional has proven experience and is held to rigorous ethical standards.

Easterly joined the BCWM wealth advisory team in 2016, and quickly became an invaluable asset to the firm. According to Principal and Senior Wealth Advisor, Eric Clark, “Sean quickly acclimated to the holistic service model we have at BCWM. Now that he has earned the CFP® certification, we are eager to provide him opportunities where he can show our clients what we have known since hiring him: his technical and communication skills in combination with dogged thoroughness make him a top-notch advisor.”

When asked why he chose to pursue the CFP® designation, Easterly replied: “My aim is to continually progress in ways that allow me to contribute to our team, so that we can better serve our clients. The CFP® certification was a logical path for building on my previous experience in helping families develop and implement financial plans. Through the process I gained new skills and greater expertise, and these will aid our firm in providing our clients peace of mind.”
